Ep 203 | Learning to Dream with God – and Allowing HIM to Take the Wheel with Rashidat Odeyemi
Hey Winner,
Joseph was a dreamer, and God used him. He had no idea why he was dreaming about bundles of wheat bowing down to him, but he did trust God enough to let Him lead. And because of this, he helped his country in dire need, in the midst of years of famine. He became a local hero because he partnered with God in his dreams.
Now, we could go one of two ways. We could completely take the wheel and make things happen on our own, depending on our own plans, and being rigid about carrying them through. We could also go the opposite direction and continue to wait with the ideology that we have to stand still until we hear God move us.
But what I’ve come to realize is that God won’t move the unmovable. There needs to be a balance of us in action – faith is us in motion, after all – and also us being willing to let God steer the course. When we mesh the two, action and partnership with God, then our dreams will line up with God because He’ll make his desires ours, and we’ll have a beautiful melody.
I felt like this was important to talk about right now in a culture of self-love and self-dependence and self-motivation and self-self-self. My friend Rashidat learned this important lesson along the way of building her own business, and we dive into being a part of the conversation, but following God’s lead in our lives and businesses.
