RELATED: 15 Best Runner Gifts for 2019
1) Saucony Performance Socks
Because who doesn’t need more socks that are great for running! I go through socks like crazy, and performance socks are the way to go!
2) Go Guarded
A runner doesn’t need a diamond ring, all she needs is a ring of protection! The Go Guarded ring is a convenient and comfortable self-defense product just in case the unthinkable should happen when you’re out on a run, hike, or walk. This ring helps runners feel very confident while out enjoying nature.
3) Body Glide
Anti-chafe balm … do I have to say more? Rain, sweat, long runs, all these things can create rashes and chafing, and body glide helps eliminate that!
4) Raw Honey Packets OR Gu Gels
Honey is a great way for runners to keep their sugar levels up if they want a more natural alternative to the gels and such. Gu is another great way for runners to fuel during their runs!
5) Mind Over Marathon: Overcoming Mental Barriers in the Race of Life
Running is just as much mental as it is physical, and just like we have to train our bodies to run the mileage, we also need to train our minds to think the way we want and get tough. Mind Over Marathon is not JUST a running book! It is about discovering a dream and taking it from inception to a flourishing finish. What you’ll be giving is the gift to ignite passion and purpose in their lives, clarity in their unique game plan, and build confidence in who they are! It’s a must-read for runners and non-runners alike!
6) Kara Goucher’s “Strong”
Kara Goucher, a two-time Olympian shares her secrets of conquering self-doubt and improving her running performance in this book! She shares her experiences and a glimpse into her own personal confidence journal. There are guided activities within that will help you incorporate the confidence techniques into your own training.
7) Sport Polarized Sunglasses
When the light reflects off the snow, it can be extra bright on your runs! Sports sunglasses are a great option to keep that sun at bay and still enjoy its warmth.
8) iTunes Gift Card
Who doesn’t like listening to music or some type of distraction when they run? This will give them the gift of choice.
WINTER RUNNING GEAR:
9) Yaktrax Run Traction Cleats
No slipping and falling with these bad boys! For those extreme runners who still hit the trails or brave the ice and snow, these cleats attach to the bottom of their shoes and give them the traction they need in the extreme winter conditions.
10) Trailhead Ponytail Headband
Keep those ears warm and skip the hair tie! This headband secures your hair back behind you without all the fuss.
11) Trailheads Convertible Mittens
Mittens are a must! I love these gloves because they are fingerless gloves with a mitten overlay. I much prefer a mitten because it keeps those fingers close and warms them better than gloves with separated finger holes.
12) HotHands Hand Warmers
This is a great way to start out the run warm! Throwing some hand warmers inside your mittens is sure to boost that body heat immediately and keep you feeling good throughout your run.
13) Smartwool Performance Sock
Winter running requires warm feet, and the smartwool socks are the way to go! Even in frigid temperatures, these socks will keep your feet warm. If you’re anything like me, if my feet are cold, my whole body is cold.
