Can Dreams Come True? 9 Powerful Strategies That Work
What do you dream about? Being financially free? Buying your dream home or sports car? Or do you want to write your own book, start a business, go skydiving, run a marathon, or travel the world?
You may be asking yourself: Can Dreams Come True? I’m here to tell you that they sure can. But it doesn’t just happen like magic. These are 9 Powerful Strategies That Work. They’ll help you to be intentional, believe in your dreams, and take action to achieve them.
With the right tools and strategies, you can be equipped with the right mindset, plans, and steps to take that will lead you to success. These are some of the best tips that I’ve used in my own life that have helped me realize my dreams.
My dream came true and so will yours
A few years ago, I got to take a dream off my vision board because it had become a reality! It was no longer a dream; I did the work and saw it through to real life! I released a book for the first time in my life! Why does this matter? Because if I can do it, so can you!
Your dream may not be to write a book or run a marathon, but your dreams matter just as much as mine do, and if I can be an inspiration for you to work toward your own, then my mission is complete!
The reward of realizing a dream is so great. It’s hard to describe the feelings of it because it’s happy and emotional and almost surreal in a, “Did this really happen?” sort of way.
You look back and see the hard work that it took, the things that you had to sacrifice, and the change that you made in yourself along the way. It’s like you’re a whole new person when you cross that finish line.
I want you to get a chance to experience those feelings as well. Have you experienced them before? Are you going after a dream in your heart already?
Categories of people when it comes to dreams
I feel as though there are four categories of people when it comes to dreams.
- Category 1: Those who don’t have a dream or have lost their dreams along life’s path. These people may even be afraid to dream yet dreams are absolutely free.
- Category 2: People who have a dream but haven’t done anything with it. It kind of ends there. They have no plan of action.
- Category 3: Those who have a dream and are pursuing it, but they’ve hit a wall and feel stuck.
- Category 4: The ones who have a dream and see it to the finish line no matter the obstacles that come. These dreamers are the ones that change the world
What dreams are in your heart? Which category of dreamers do you fall into? Do you want to take those dreams to the finish line? Are you ready to be equipped to reach your dream life? Then get ready to get the tools to be equipped on the journey.
Can Dreams Come True? 9 Powerful Strategies That Work
Can dreams come true? The answer is yes, they can. What you need are strategies to turn your dreams into reality. These are some key ways you can put into practice to do just that.
1. Write your dreams down
When you write a good dream down and you can see it every day, you start to desire it in your real life. You can write it on your vision board, in your dream journal, or diary. You don’t even have to wait until the New Year to write your goals are dreams down. Start any day.
My vision board has been a sort of guide for my future (and I’m not talking about a new-agey manifestation board – I’m talking about putting my goals in front of me and allowing God to lead in them). It’s a visual reminder that provides clarity, commitment, and inspiration toward my dreams.
Now that I’ve written my book, I can focus on a new dream that I’d like to achieve. You experience so much contentment and joy as you work hard to fulfill your own dreams in life.
2. Use Positive affirmations
Did you know that negative self-talk can become a self-fulfilling prophecy? When you repeat phrases like “I can’t”, “It’s too hard”, or “It’s impossible” you’ll slowly be killing your dreams. Our words are powerful so we should be careful about what we say to ourselves.
The surest way to bring your dream to life is to replace negativity with positive affirmations and phrases that encourage, strengthen, inspire, and make you hopeful that you’ll achieve that particular dream in your heart.
One of the ways I prefer to do this is through scripture:
“I can’t do this” becomes “I can do all things God wants me to do because He gives me the strength to do them.”
“I’m not good enough” becomes “I am good enough because of Christ.”
“This is too hard” becomes “God didn’t promise me a life without trial, but He did promise to walk through any struggle with me. I can do the hard with Christ.”
3. Take Action
You have a burning desire to see your dream come true but the truth is it takes time. The good news however is you can take it a day at a time. Don’t be intimidated by all the steps you need to take to reach your dream.
You may not have enough time to work on your dreams and a plan of action because you have a full-time job, family, church, and a long to-do list filled with pending tasks and responsibilities to fulfill.
I encourage you to be intentional with managing your time. Cut the time you spend on social media or Netflix and rather use that spare time to research, network, and take steps toward your dreams.
And definitely, don’t wait to figure it all out or when your ducks are in a row before taking action. What matters is to start. Take that leap of faith and keep moving toward your dream life.
4. Let your community support you
You can’t achieve your biggest dream alone. When I was writing my book I needed my community’s support along the way. Let friends and family know what you’re working toward and give them a chance to pray for you, encourage you, and hold you accountable when you need it.
5. Be willing to Fail
Reframe how you think about failure because I’m here to let you know that failure is a good thing. It means you’re trying and taking action.
Failing on a regular basis is necessary because it keeps us humble and eager to learn and grow. There’s not much we can do to avoid it.
We can have an open mind and embrace it because it sure does bring some important lessons in our own lives.
6. Work Hard
In this day and age, we speak of overnight success stories. But is that really a thing? I don’t think so. There’s no replacement for hard work.
When you work hard every single day toward the deepest desires of your heart, you put yourself in a better position to succeed. Push yourself whether you feel like working or not and before you know it you’ll be living your dream life.
“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.”
—Dwayne Johnson
7. Never let fear get in your way
Fear is a powerful emotional state that we all go through when we feel threatened or in danger. It’s not a bad thing to feel fear but it shouldn’t paralyze us and stop us from achieving our dreams.
When you feel scared to take the next step in your dream life, acknowledge the fear and use some helpful strategies to face and overcome the fear.
It’s important to also remember that it’s better to move into the unknown than stay in your current situation where you’re unfulfilled and have a strong desire to live a better, healthier, and more successful life. Let the dream and the life it brings be more important than the fear.
Look at pregnant women. Most of them are scared of birth yet when they visualize themselves holding their precious baby they gain the strength and courage to go through the pain and discomfort which is only temporary.
8. Celebrate milestones
When you achieve a victory or milestone along the journey to your dream, this is a great place to pause and celebrate. Reward yourself for your hard work. This will boost your self-esteem so that you’re ready and motivated to keep going until the finish line.
9. Never give up
No matter what setbacks and curveballs are thrown your way never give up on a good dream. You may face disappointments, rejections, discouragements, and pushbacks but continue to stay the course. Be persistent.
You may need to redirect your plan or reevaluate how you achieve your dreams and go for it no matter what. Just be patient and give yourself enough time. You can achieve our dream!
This is a great quote by one of the best inventors in history:
“The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”
—Thomas Edison
Being stuck in your comfort zone is no way to live. You become so unfulfilled, frustrated, and unhappy.
Can dreams come true? Yes, they can. These 9 Powerful Strategies That Work will give you clarity and inspiration.
When you commit to taking action, putting together a plan, working hard, and refusing to give up, your dreams can become a reality. Taking a few steps is better than no steps at all.
Give yourself enough time to take the next step toward achieving your dream life. A lot can happen which can discourage and frustrate you but stay focused and you will succeed.
